While dark circles look unpleasant, concealing them with make-up is something one cannot do every day (considering too much make-up is also not good). Most of the cosmetic products designed to hide or reduce them are expensive and laced with chemicals that can be harmful to the delicate skin under your eyes. However, there are certain effective natural remedies that can help you in getting rid of these awful marks around your eyes. In fact, these natural remedies will also prevent the dark circles from occurring in the future. Here are a few natural remedies that you can try at home.

#1 Tomato paste

Tomato paste is one of the most effective remedies for dark circles. And thankfully, even its preparation is easy and quick. Take one or two fresh tomatoes, a teaspoon of lemon juice and a pinch each of gram flour and turmeric powder. Blend these ingredients nicely together until they become a thick paste, and apply it around your eyes. Rinse it off gently with clean water after 10-20 minutes. Repeating this process twice or thrice every week will make skin tone around your eyes lighter and will eventually make the dark circles go away completely.

#2 Almond oil

Almond oil is another natural ingredient which is very beneficial for the delicate skin around your eyes. All you need to do is to apply a little almond oil over the dark circles before going to bed and wash it off with cold water the next morning. Repeating this for at least a month will make your dark circles disappear almost entirely.

#3 Cucumber & potato

Placing slices of fresh cucumber or potato over your eyes can help reduce dark circles to a great extent. It is a famous trick known for soothing and preventing the occurrence of discolouration around the eyes. Alternatively, you can also apply fresh juices of cucumber or potato around your eyes with the help of a cotton ball. It will be better to apply the juices and leaving them on overnight for quicker and more effective results.

#4 Crushed mint leaves

Applying crushed mint leaves over your eyes will soothe them and work remarkably on dark circles. Apply freshly crushed mint leaves all around your eyes and leave it for five to 10 minutes. Then gently wipe it off with a clean and cold cloth. You will feel extremely relaxed and the circles under the eyes will go away gradually.

#5 Orange juice & glycerine

Orange juice mixed with glycerin is an effective way to get rid of dark circles. Regular use of this mixture makes the skin around your eyes smoother and softer, besides removing those unpleasant dark circles.
