Sonakshi to star in Happy Bhaag Jayegi Returns

Happy Bhaag Jayegi, the rom-com that had marked Diana Penty's return after Cocktail and had gotten her critical acclaim, is getting a sequel. The actress, last seen in Farhan Akhtar-starrer Lucknow Central, will be reprising the role of Happy, the runaway bride, but this time, a new member will also join her squad. The makers of the sequel have roped in Sonakhsi Sinha to star in the film alongside. The Dabangg star shared the news on social media, “Its one big HAPPY family!!! Cant wait to kickstart this journey #happybhaagjayegireturns”.

According to a report, the film is officially under way with Diana and Sonakshi as the leads. Both the actresses are excited to be part of the sequel. Sonakshi said in a statement, "I'm thrilled to be on board of this really positive, vibrant and most importantly happy film unit. I loved the first part and I hope this one is bigger and better in every way. Can't wait to start shooting!" About working in the second part, Diana said, "Being part of Happy Bhaag Jayegi Returns is like going back to family! Happy Bhaag Jayegi was a fun, roller- coaster of a ride and I'm sure this one is going to be as much of a riot!"

Bollywood bigwigs join hands for a remake

According to reports, Rajesh Khanna's Ittefaq is getting a remake. The film will be co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar. King Khan was expected to star in the film, as well but backed out due to clashing dates. "I really wanted to do it when I heard the script. But I was doing other films. So, I couldn’t. But the team, which is doing right now, is great," shared the Raees star.

The upcoming film stars Sonakshi Sinha, Sidharth Malhotra and Akshaye Khanna, and the three have already shared posters featuring their respective characters on their social media, giving some intel for what to expect. Each of the posters includes the character’s first look and a small tagline, while the tagline of the movie reads, "2 Murders, 2 Suspects, 2 Versions." The film, although a remake, will be treated so as to suit the modern times. Ittefaq is slated to release on November 3rd.
