The Uk's Biggest Rocking Horse Is The Size Of A Two-storey House
Mounting this massive toy is neigh mean feat – for it's the country's largest rocking horse. The 15 foot high rocking horse – 'Bigger Bertie' – was made by a craftsman as a bigger replica of his own horse – Big Bertie. And villagers in Fangfoss, East Yorks, have flocked to have a sit on Bigger Bertie which is the size of a two storey house and weighs more than two tons. Master craftsman Tony Dew spent more than a year sculpting the wooden horse – dedicating more than 800 hours to perfecting the enormous toy.
Tony said, "It's certainly the biggest rocking horse of its type in the world. It's made to rock, so it rocks backwards and forwards.
"As an adult, it makes you understand exactly what a tiny child feels like when they're riding an ordinary rocking horse.
"You feel very vulnerable, it's a long way off the ground and there's not a lot to hold onto – you feel like you need a bigger adult to hold onto you."
Work started on Bigger Bertie last year but his size forced designers to build him outdoors in dry weather.
