Q: I am a 19-year-old girl with weight 61kg and height 5 feet 3 inches. I am really depressed about my weight. Could you please give me some tips for weight reduction? Sara
A: You are young and should make an aim to lose around 8-10kg by bringing healthy changes in your eating behaviour. Avoid cheese, ice creams, oil, ghee, sweets, cakes, pastries, biscuits and chips. Try to completely eliminate junk food from your diet and relay more on homemade food items. To control your appetite drink two glasses of water. Avoid parties and dine outs. Exercise is very important for weight reduction. Walk daily for more than 45 minutes. You can also do aerobic exercises at home for quick weight loss. For breakfast, consume two brown bread slices with omelette. You can have shami kabab with chappati for lunch and have vegetable salad with grilled fish for dinner.
