Lara Dutta Won't Return To Films Soon
Actress-producer Lara Dutta, who gave birth to a baby girl in January this year, says although she is reading scripts, she won't be back to work for another couple of months.
"I don't think I have been far from my work, I will slowly take it into my stride. I am looking at films and scripts and it's all underway. But I am not going to be back onto a set at least for the next couple of months because I want to make sure my baby is secure," the 34-year-old said at the launch of a beauty cream. It was her first public appearance after becoming a mother.
Lara got married to tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi in February last year and the couple has named their daughter, Saira. Lara, who turned producer with Chalo Dilli, was last seen in Don 2: The King is Back.
Kareena Kapoor, Madhur Bhandarkar Too Busy For Cannes
Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has quashed reports that he is going to launch the first look of Heroine at the upcoming 65th Cannes Film Festival with actress Kareena Kapoor.
Bhandarkar, 45, who is working hard for his ambitious project since last year, said the whole team of the film will be busy in shooting at the time when the festival will happen.
"Reports that the first look of Heroine is going to be launched in Cannes are baseless. Kareena, the whole team and I are busy shooting Heroine in the whole month of April and May, so no question of visiting Cannes," Bhandarkar posted on Twitter.
In Cannes 2011, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was supposed to play the lead and left it due to pregnancy, had launched the film along with Madhur Bhandarkar and UTV's head Ronnie Screwwala. Cannes 2012 will be held from May 16 to 27.
Esha Gupta looks like Angelina Jolie: Mahesh Bhatt
"Esha's ethos is very Indian. She looks like Angelina Jolie but she has the flavour of India still in her. She knows that sensuality is an essential attribute of the female animal. However the mystique needs to be retained as a survival tool. Esha celebrates her feminine body and yet her ambition is rooted in real India." Mahesh Bhatt said while talking to media. He further added, "She has taken a quantum leap from Jannat-2 to Raaz-3 and she has a high emotional quotient and the ability to respond when she is challenged. She came back the other day from an outdoor shoot and I asked her 'how did your schedule go?' She replied, 'They thought I look like Angelina Jolie but they also commented that I act like Smita Patil.' That reveals her. That is the way she wants the world to perceive her."
Vidya In Karan Johar's Next?
For all the celebration at Dharma Productions, work goes on as per schedule. Karan Johar it seems has bought the rights to make The Immortals of Meluha. He has approached Hrithik Roshan to play Shiva in the film. The million dollar question is who will play Parvati. The toss up it seems is between Priyanka Chopra and Vidya Balan. While Hrithik prefers his old co-star Priyanka, Karan thinks Vidya would be the ideal choice. Let's see who wins.
Sarkar 3 On The Cards, Sans Aishwarya
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has begun working on Sarkar 3 and clarifies that while Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan will reprise their roles, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan won't be part of the cast.
It was speculated that Aishwarya will return to the arc lights post-pregnancy sabbatical with Sarkar 3, but Varma has set the record straight.
"Sarkar 3 is being planned... Amitji and Abhishek will feature in it but contrary to reports Aishwarya won't be... the script is still under process," Varma tweeted.
The first installment of Sarkar saw Katrina Kaif playing the love interest of Abhishek. Later Aishwarya came on board for Sarkar Raj, though in a different role.
