Lose Weight & Gain Height
Q: I am a 13-year-old girl with weight 70kg and height 5 feet 2 inches. I want to gain height and lose weight. Please suggest a diet plan for me. Amna
A: It is not easy to lose weight and gain height, a very determined approach is needed to achieve your target. Avoid junk food and fried items. Have salads and fruits along with skimmed milk or skimmed yogurt. Hanging exercises are a must to gain height. Adequate minerals and vitamins must be included in diet and for that have generous amounts of fruits and vegetables daily. Restrict the intake of sodium, 1g sodium in the daily diet is sufficient to prevent water retention. You have to be very choosy about the intake of certain food items with high cholesterol level including meat and fish, milk and other dairy products, poultry, eggs, bakery products like cakes and pastries. Try to have good night sleep as growth hormones are released during sleep.
