Feeha Jamshed is an innovative designer who is known for her unconventional designs and cutting-edge silhouettes. She has built her career by following her heart and, as a result, her one-of-a-kind designs have broken more than a few traditional barriers along the way. Taking her love of the old and infusing it with the new, she creates truly unique ensembles for the contemporary women of Pakistan. MAG caught up with Feeha and asked her about her style mantra. Excerpts:
Please describe your personal style.
How has your style evolved?
It has evolved with age.
Any style mistakes?
Of course, lots of them.
How long does it take for you to get ready?
15 minutes tops!
What inspires you style-wise?
My mom's vintage chest.
Is there anything you'd like to change about your appearance?
No, I am happy the way I am.
Where do you shop?
I pick random stuff from everywhere and do mix and match with the stuff that I already have. For formal wear, I go for Umer Sayeed.
What is your favourite piece of clothing?
I really like my palazzo pants and maxi skirts.
Your favourite designers?
Internationally, I like Jil Sander and Michael Kors. Locally, Umer Sayeed is my favourite.
Is there anything you'd like to own but can't afford?
Yes, I would love to own a Jaguar 1976.
If you had a skill, what would it be?
I'd love to have a singing voice!
Tell us something no one knows about you.
I hardly brush my hair.
Fly The Flag
Celebrating its seven year partnership with UNICEF, Gucci launched the GG Flag Collection, an exclusive line of T-shirts and accessories designed by the brand's Creative Director Frida Giannini. These zip around wallets, handbags and tees are stamped with a news stylization of the interlocking GG logo and are painted in the colours of various national flags. 25 percent from the proceeds of this collection will be donated to the label's schools of Africa and Asia initiative.
