Q: I am an 18-year-old boy with weight 78kg and height 5 feet 3 inches. I want to lose weight. I am also very depressed about my height. Please suggest some diet tips that can help me gain height and lose weight. Farhan Hussain
A: It is will be impossible for you to gain more height as you have crossed that age. But you can look taller by losing weight. You are young and it is very important for you to lose weight otherwise you will face many health complications later in your life. Never opt for weight loss supplements available in market rather completely change your lifestyle. Get your blood sugar levels, insulin levels and thyroid hormone levels checked to know if you have any hormonal disturbances. The weight loss target for you is 15kg and to achieve it make exercise a compulsory part of your life. To burn calories, you can join a good gym or take up some sport. Proteins should be the major part of your diet but also include complex carbs in your diet. You can also enjoy a handful of almonds and walnuts once or twice a week.
