BlackBerry Nanny
This one's for parents. A new app called BlackBerry Parental controls will let you keep an eye on the features and functions your children are using on their BlackBerry smartphones. Features include the ability to block the use of the phone's camera or limit phone calls to only those numbers listed in the contacts and to certain apps. The app is free to download from the BlackBerry App World for all devices running the BlackBerry 6 or 7 OS.

Faster Facebook for iOS
Facebook says its new iOS app has been "rebuilt from the ground up" and is now twice as fast as the previous version. According to tech blog engadget.com, the changes include faster opening of the app, smoother scrolling and faster upload of photos. The upgrade is available now from its App Store. And, there's now also an official, free Pinterest app for Android phones.
