What is the fashion philosophy of FnkAsia?
Fashion revolves around colour, texture and craft. The philosophy of my label also revolves around that.
What is the best and worst part of your job?
The best part is that I can experience everything that is offered in my country, like all the different crafts which I can incorporate into my work. The worst part is the long hours.
Who would you like most to dress nationally and internationally?
Nationally, I would like to dress any woman who is a high achiever be it a doctor, actress, banker, anyone. Internationally, I would say Michelle Obama, simply because I feel she needs a little bit of colour in her wardrobe.
If you could bring one trend from the past which one would it be?
I love the 70s Boho style and palazzo pants.
Any fashion advice you would like to give to Pakistani women?
Believe in yourself and go for something that suits you. Remember, you can buy fashion but you can't buy style.
What are the upcoming trends for this season?
Hemlines will come up, a lot of fresh cuts and newer trends will be coming in as well. Moreover, my focus will be to bring shalwars back in fashion.
What colour palette do you see for 2012?
A lot of bright colours, citrus and neons will be quite 'IN' this season.
What can we expect from FnkAsia in 2012?
Well, you can definitely expect a lot of fusion stuff that will be trendy but at the same time very Pakistani. We will also be coming up with a lot of cottons, drapes and solids.
