Celebrating Independence!
Whether you are hoisting flags on your rooftops, or lighting up the façade by decorating your verandas, you are disbursing a green ambience. In our country Independence Day is considered as a festival that is celebrated with just the right amount of ingredients needed to commemorate such a patriotic occasion. The morning parades, the 21-gun salutes and the flag hoisting ceremonies invoke an unparallel sense of patriotism that can never be matched. Even schools and national institutions arrange patriotic programs to commemorate the day. Whilst kids rejoice in the two colours that make up our national flag by wearing badges and other accessories, and decorating their houses with flag buntings, others are seen going out with their families, to sea sides, parks and national monuments that have historical significance to the independence of the country.
Irrespective of how people celebrate the day, there is always one thing that people try to keep constant, and that is keeping up with the Joneses when it comes to their wardrobe. With a well defined colour palette, choices are only limited to the type of outfit one dons. Tops in shades of green have flooded markets, and there are a variety of designs to choose from, while deciding your wardrobe for an Independence Day event.
Light green is quite the talk of the town because of the coinciding summer season, and because of the latter, cool shades of green, such as the sea-green one here, are the top choices. Pair them with white tights or straight-cut trousers and you are ready for the evening. You can also opt somber tones of the green family if the brightness of the lighter shades hurts the eye, but beware, don't overdose your ensemble, you don't want to look like you've outdone your wits.
Smart cuts in flowy fabrics, and contemporary designs on the neckline could do well for the fashionably daring, whilst for those who don't like to experiment with clothes much, you can go with traditional designs like this light green kurta, with an embroidered bodice.
Whatever you opt for, go green!
