Diet Plan For Pregnant Woman
Q: I am a 29-year-old married woman with weight 59kg and height 5 feet 2 inches. I am six months pregnant. Can you please suggest what should I include in my diet? My husband is overweight with weight 80kg and height 5 feet 9 inches. Kindly suggest a diet plan for him also. Mehnaz Mujahid
A: As you are in your sixth month of pregnancy it is very important for you to take seven to eight light and balanced meals. Your diet should have balanced proportions of protein, carbohydrates, fats and other nutrients. Avoid having juices and solids together. Take vitamin supplements with your doctor's advice.
Your husband should lose 10kg. He should increase his physical activities to burn extra fats. Serve him a heavy breakfast, lighter lunch and lightest dinner. Give him any medium sized fruit such as apple, small banana or a wedge of watermelon as snacks or whenever he feels hungry. You can also serve him a cup of fresh fruit salad or berries before meals which will decrease his appetite.
