Filmmaker Karan Johar, who was directed by Anurag Kashyap in Bombay Velvet, says he would never cast Kashyap in a film because he doesn’t have the right look.
“I only take good-looking actors. I will not make a film where Anurag fits in.
Can you imagine Anurag in New York? You see him in Gangs of Wasseypur kind of films,” Johar said.
However, he also said that he would never direct himself.
“I can’t be my own liability. I am open to offers.
I don’t have a delusion that I can do lead roles, but good supporting roles I will do.”
Johar will be seen in a negative role in Bombay Velvet.
He said yes to the film because he thought no one else would ever offer him a negative role.
“My character in the film is manipulative. When Anurag came to me with this film, I loved the role. When he told me that he was considering Naseeruddin Shah for this role, it acted as added pressure. I thought nobody will offer me a negative role in my life so I thought I should take it. I hope it works out.”
