Turkey Awards 2011
The good, the bad and the ugly. Wait, wait, wait… forget the good; let's just concentrate on the bad and the ugly. Like every year, last year too there were plenty of 'ekks' moments at the movies. We pressed the rewind button and scanned 2011. The bloopers went from bad to worse to OMG! So much so that our dear turkey also went facepalm. Presenting the hall of shame…

Esha Deol
(Tell Me O Kkhuda)
So Tell Me O Kkhuda was being promoted as Esha Deol's comeback film. Anyway, the film centered on Esha fails miserably. She carries the same red-nosed, cry baby expression throughout. And desperately as she tries to exude oomph all her attempts fizzle. Esha, stick to your dance shows with mommy, please!

Nargis Fakhri
(Rockstar)

Nargis Fakhri had the juiciest debut on a platter. Rockstar is one film which could have made her India's sweetheart. Alas! Miss Fakhri was penned by the critics for being unable to act and spoiling the near perfect film. We could see her discomfort while dancing and in the scenes where she had to speak lengthy dialogue. The only thing which caught the audiences' attention apart from her bad acting was her pout, her lips had more action than her face.
The Schizophrenia Award
The Schizophrenia Award
(Aarakshan)
With Aarakshan, director Prakash Jha has achieved a new feat. That of showcasing two films in one. Aarakshan is so disjointed that the pre-interval and post-interval parts seem like two different films altogether. While the first hour deals with reservation and the politics attached to it, the second hour tells the story of a retired principal talking against private tuition classes. Talk about scripts having split personalities nowadays. Damn!
The Stuck In The '80s Award
The Stuck In The '80s Award
(Mausam)
Okay, we love the old world charm but Mausam is regressive. So drab, it's a classic example of how a film can go wrong. By the time the film reaches the climax, you lose all patience. The climax can either make you laugh or hang your head in embarrassment. Geez! What's the white horse doing in that scene? Probably he was as clueless as us.
The Trash Bin Award
The Trash Bin Award
(Ready)
Ready is everything that's wrong with Hindi cinema. It takes the audience for granted. Silly jokes, vague storyline and performances that deserve rotten tomatoes; it's a cringe fest. The leading lady of the film Asin manages to irritate the hell out of you. Her voice rubs salt on the injury. Also, the film has the worst interval ever in the history of our films.

Imran Khan
(Mere Brother Ki Dulhan)

Imran Khan is charming. Sadly, when it comes to dancing, we can't say the same. He's stiff as a rock in the title track of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. What's more, in the song, he tries to duplicate the three big Khans and their celebrated steps. He does a takeoff on Shah Rukh Khan (Chaiyyan Chaiyyan, Dil Se), Salman Khan (Hud Hud, Dabangg) and Aamir Khan (Paatshaala, Rang De Basanti) and flounders. Well, this pappu definitely can't dance saala.

Akshay Kumar
Last year Akshay Kumar gave two back to back duds with Action Replayy and Tees Maar Khan. This year our man has progressed. It's a hattrick of no shows for Khiladi Kumar – Patiala House, Thank You and Desi Boyz. Pull up your socks Mr Khiladi Kumar!

John Abraham
(Force and Desi Boyz)

He's sexy, cute and charming. But when it comes to expressing, the dimpled John Abraham falters. He had two big releases this year, Force and Desi Boyz. Though Force generated enough force at the box office, John showed no improvement in his acting skills. He still gives stiffest competition to teakwood.
