Q: I am a 19-year-old girl with weight 90kg and height 5 feet 11 inches. What should I include in my diet to lose weight? Anon
A:
You should make efforts to lose around 25kg. As you are young, it will be easier for you to lose weight. For breakfast, have tea and a boiled egg with two brown bread slices. You can have a cup of porridge with milk as a midmorning snack. You can also have an apple or other medium sized fruit whenever feel hungry. But try to avoid mango as it leads to weight gain. For lunch, consume 2oz fish, meat or chicken curry with palm sized whole wheat chappati. On alternate days you can also have half cup of vegetable bhujia with salad and low-sugar fruit jelly for lunch. For dinner, you can have 2oz baked chicken with salad. Try to exercise daily for almost an hour and drink a glass of skimmed milk after workout. At bedtime you can have a cup of warm milk with one or two cookies.
