Adnan Sami Alleges Ex-Wife's Link With Militant Group
After the Bombay High Court upheld Pakistani singer, Adnan Sami's plea and granted him divorce after three years of bitterness into the relationship, Sami has now accused his estranged Dubai-based wife, Sabah Galadari of being involved in smuggling cases and having close ties with militant organisations. Interacting with reporters Sami said a few publications in Middle East had exclusively published reports validating his statement. He said, "Reports of my ex-wife and her family's connection with militant groups including that of Osama bin Laden have surfaced in various publications in certain publications in the Middle East. People there know about their background and she and her family are involved in smuggling. It has also been documented in articles that have been written by people who worked for them."
Sami also agreed on filing a complaint with the Police Commissioner of Mumbai and Dubai Police Chief against his ex-wife for possessing Portuguese citizenship. He said, "It is true that I have filed complaints with the Police Commissioner of Mumbai, Joint Commissioner and Dubai Police Chief about fake information being used by my ex-wife in her passport, including date of birth and I have also alerted them that she along with her family members are secretly having Portuguese nationality which is not allowed in Dubai. I have asked them in the interest of national security to investigate."
Meanwhile, Galadari said that she has been emotionally hurt due to the allegations levelled against her. Galadari's counsel, Mrunalini Deshmukh said that the real issue is not the passport but divorce.
Adnan fell in love with Dubai-based Sabah Galadari and married her in 2001. It was his third marriage and her second. This relationship ended a year-and-a-half later. According to Adnan Sami, Sabah left him because he was obese. He also claimed that they were married for 10 years. On June 19, 2012, Bombay High Court granted divorce to Adnan Sami and Sabah Galadari.
