Who’s The Rudest
Of ‘Em All?

Who's The Rudest of 'Em All?From slapping co-stars to telling journos to shut up, celebs have taken rudeness to a different level

Vidhu Vinod Chopra might be one of the best filmmakers of current times, but he is also famous for losing his temper. During the shooting of Parineeta in Kolkata, he stirred up huge protests when he said his crew was being given a step-motherly treatment by the stage government. And recently, he screamed ‘SHUT UP’ at a journo during a press meet. He is not the only celeb to need a crash course in good manners though. Here’s B’wood’s rude list…

Who: Kareena Kapoor
What: Called co-star Bipasha Basu kaali billi (black cat).
When: While shooting for Ajnabee in 2001, Kareena was irritated with then-newcomer, Bipasha Basu, for taking her stylist’s help. Bebo called bips kaali billi, Bips retorted by calling her a safed chhipkali (white lizard). And so began one of the most-talked-about B’wood catfights.
Repercussions: Nine years have passed but Bebo refuses to keep quiet. On Koffee With Karan, she called Bipasha’s boyfriend John ‘expressionless’. Katrina and Preity have also fallen prey to Bebo’s acid tongue.
Bebo, as you’re on a foe-turned-friend making spree, it’s time to get friendly with Bips too.

Who: Kajol
What: Walked out from a script-reading session with Aparna Sen.
When: Kajol made the award-winning director Aparna wait for three whole months before meeting her. On the day of the meeting, she arrived five hours late and walked out of the script-reading session within 15 minutes without any explanation.
Repercussions: Aparna cast daughter Konkona Sen Sharma in the movie that’s now in the making.
Kads, you may be a good actress, but that’s no excuse for bad manners. You lost out on the role of a lifetime.

Who: Vidhu Vinod Chopra
What: Asked a journalist to ‘shut up’.
When: No one will imagine that Vidhu has made a film on Gandhigiri because he got all worked up at a press conference in Delhi when a journalist asked him if 3 Idiots was copied from Chetan Bhagat’s book Five Point Someone. Vidhu yelled at the journo, ‘shut up!’
Repercussions: Upsetting the press while promoting your film is a bad move. Realising this, Vidhu apologised to the media the very next morning.
Vidhu, please take a lesson in being sweet and giggly from wife Anupama Chopra.
