After Haider, Shahid Kapoor will be romancing Shraddha Kapoor onscreen once again, revealed a report. Apparently, Katrina Kaif was the first choice, but now Shraddha may be taking on the role of the female lead. Though there has been no confirmation of the news yet, a source shared that after Katrina couldn't sign the film due to her busy schedule, the producers approached the Ek Villain star for the role, as they were looking for an A-list heroine who would play a lawyer in the film.

"The makers recently got in touch with Shraddha. She has been briefed about the role. However, it will require some prep," the source further said. The storyline of the satirical Batti Gul Meter Chalu follows the fight of a common man against the electricity board and other power distribution companies over corruption, and it is scheduled to release on August 31, 2018.
