Facebook decides to shut down its personal assistant

Facebook has decided to shut down its personal assistant later this month. Its “M” services are virtual text-based assistants that are powered by both artificial intelligence and humans. The programme was launched in August 2015. Facebook has sent a notification to inform users about the big news. “M” was launched to compete with other similar personal assistants such as Apple Siri, Cortana and Google Assistant. After conducting several experiments, Facebook has termed its “M” services as a “failed experiment” and decided to shut it down.

Xbox One introduces ‘do not disturb’ mode

Xbox gamers can rejoice because the device’s latest update features a new do not disturb mode. This new option will allow gamers to mute notifications along with other distractions when users are watching a movie or playing a game. To make things easier, Microsoft is adding an online status that will notify friends when you’re in do not disturb mode. This way, you won’t have to worry about checking messages or answering party chats.

Vivo to launch its first fingerprint sensor smartphone

Chinese manufacturer Vivo is all geared up to launch its first smartphone with in-display fingerprint sensor. The company showcased the concept of the device at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in 2017. This year, however, Vivo will be launching its final product at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas. To generate hype, the brand has published a teaser image of the device with a tagline reading, “Unlock the Future”. The tagline suggest that the sensor will be fully functional in the new smartphone.
