The sound of a horn being played inside a giant igloo was loud and clear, in a snowy Norwegian village, Finse, as the 13th Ice Music Festival kick-started. The tunes of the horn warm the senses of an otherwise freezing audience who collectively huddled in the killer 24 degrees Celsius.

The four musicians, who performed using different musical instruments in this igloo packed with listeners and spectators, felt much colder, for the instruments they used to play some soulful tunes were all made of ice.

Be it the calves, the wind instruments or the xylophone, everything was painstakingly carved using ice blocks which had been extracted from the frozen lake in the area. The instruments became a part of the finger-numbing performance at the Ice Music Festival in the mountainous village.
