Born in Lahore,

is a top-order right-hand batsman in Pakistan’s cricket team. The 32-year-old lad has worked his way to attain success in the national cricket team since the start of his career. Since 2006, Azhar was part of the domestic cricket scene, from whereon, he started opening regularly the side he represented. His technique to bat has been quite consistent for he designed it to get behind the line of each ball. Azhar was named ODI captain followed by 2015’s World Cup, as he took over the role from MIsbah-ul-Haq, but soon ran into trouble as under his captaincy not much was achieved by Pakistan’s cricket team; however, his individual efforts have always been fruitful. Azhar is married and a doting father of two sons.
