Italy’s Naples experiences heaviest snowfall in 50 years

Around the world

The extremely freezing temperatures along with snowstorms arriving from the east have swept the entire European continent and have led to widespread disturbance across all the countries. Italy, too, has been witnessing the wrath of nature, as the entire country is said to have been covered in snow, with its southern city Naples, going through the heaviest snowfall ever in 50 years. The subzero temperature and snowstorms have left the Italian authorities with no choice but to call in its army to help clear the streets in various cities and have also cancelled all the flights from the country’s hub in Ciampino. Naple’s mayor has advised residents to only leave their home when extremely necessary to stay as safe as possible in the deadly chilly weather. Schools have also been closed as well as trains have either been cancelled or delayed for hours.
