Headgears and crowns ruled the Met Gala 2018

It is the best time of the year to be in Hollywood. With the world’s biggest festivals rolling out their red carpets, pranced upon by the who’s who of fashion and film, we are in awe of the myriad of fashion statements made by the glammed up A-listers.
Met Gala, is known as the fashion world’s equivalent of the Oscars, the most sought after event for designers, fashion powerhouses and celebrities to dress to the top. This year’s theme for the Met Gala was to initiate a dialogue between fashion and the masterworks of religious art. The red carpet appearances were ostentatiously vivid; boasting a Pope, a Jesus Christ and celebrities boasting crosses with their attire. Amongst the most standout statements were the use of dramatic head accessories, crowns and headpieces.

Rihanna in Maison Margiela

All hail The Bad Gal Riri Pope. The only girl you'd ever love made the spectators bow out with this heavenly appearance.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Dolce & Gabbana

Sarah Jessica Parker always takes her Met Gala themes seriously. This stunning woman has delivered some of the best and memorable appearances to the event in the past. This year, she didn’t hold back and emerged in a Dolce & Gabbana ensemble with a bejewelled hat.

Priyanka Chopra in Ralph Lauren

They say Priyanka Chopra and Ralph Lauren are a match made in heaven. PC’s glittering, jewelled headgear took 250 hours to complete.

Madonna in Jean Paul Gaultier

What is fitter for the Queen of Pop than a crown of crosses? When it comes to dressing to astound and stand out, Madonna certainly pulls the right strings. Artfully covered in net veil, the starlet was quite a spectacle.

Rosie Huntington in Whiteley

Not going way too overboard yet sticking profoundly with the Met Gala theme, was this innocent halo. Works magically.

Hailee Steinfeld

The singer decided she does the full-on princess look best and adorned a tiara.

Amber Heard in Carolina Herrera

The world’s most symmetrical face dons a sharped edged headpiece.

SZA in Versace

Impersonating an actual angel on the red carpet was this beautiful woman. We love how the headpiece works with her outfit.
