MAKING LIFE MATTER

Zein Ahmed’s ‘Making Life Matter’ is a year long passion project, inspired by the culture and artistry of Sukkur. Zein Ahmed decided to embark on this journey of ‘making the invisible hands, visible’ and highlighting the sheer amount of talent and skill that is hidden away in Sukkur. Each piece is handcrafted and provides a profound sense of heritage, and promotes a high sense of excellence.

The exhibit recently took place for five days at the Alliance Francaise de Karachi. CIRCLE Founder, Sadaffe Abid, a social entrepreneur working on women’s inclusion in the economy, shared her ideas about creating prosperity for artisans through business. The unique collection featured excellent craftsmanship and exquisite patterns of complex embroidery.

Zein Ahmed shared, “Good design is not about the surface of a garment alone. It is about a purity of practice from the ground up. Design must resonate all stages of production and artisanal making. I am thrilled to work with Sukhur artisans and spotlight their work.”
