Komal Rizvi’s
Hello Ji will make you wince

Singer and songwriter, Komal Rizvi recently released her new song, Hello Ji, which would be the artist’s first original track of the year 2018. The musical video is a rom-com, set in the 80’s, featuring Yasir Hussain. Unfortunately, it didn’t prove to be quite the music to one’s ears it was ought to. The video shows the 80s’ café culture as a stage to the story of a young waitress and a mafia boss, who develop feelings for each other. But the boss, played by Hussain, can’t muster the courage to confess his love for the waitress, played by Komal. However, the lyrics and the video itself proved very nonsensical, especially the words which were strained, not catchy and seemed forcefully rhymed. Lyrics are not the only area Komal Rizvi has to work on; the music video, too, lacked the vibe in itself and looked more like a messed up remake of the 80’s with off-wardrobe style for both the characters. In this current era, the artists should consider making more intelligent content that can appeal to the masses, instead of coming up with silly flirty one like Hello Ji.

SABA QAMAR TO STAR IN MUSIC VIDEO ABOUT CHILD ABUSE

Saba Qamar fans, rejoice! The Baaghi star will soon be making a comeback to our screens, featuring in the video of Shuja Haider’s upcoming track Jeevan Daan. “Shuja made me listen to the track first and I really liked it. Then, he and I sat down to conceptualise its video. We really wanted to make something exceptional and put across a strong message,” the actor shared and continued, “I didn’t want to do beauty-shots or sway by the wind in some garden. I’ve always done projects that leave an impact on people’s lives.” She further revealed that Jeevan Daan highlights child abuse in Pakistani society. The actress feels that the video of the song has successfully managed to capture the cruelty of child abuse tactfully, so much so that she’s afraid not many would be able to grasp onto what its narrative is.

Behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot show Saba sporting menswear throughout. Explaining the intriguing choice of wardrobe, the Digest Writer star explained that the outfits are a reflection of the authority of women. She continued, “My character is basically of somebody confronting; bringing the children in front of the camera.”

HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS

Azadeh Hussain, daughter of Sanam Bhutto and niece of late PPP leader Benazir Bhutto, tied the knot in London. Her cousins Bakhtawar, Bilawal and Asifa were in attendance along with other close friends and family. The beauty surely resembles her late aunt a whole lot, credits to the Bhutto genes. Many congratulations to the couple!

THINGS YOU MIGHT WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE HOTTEST NEW DATING SHOW, THE PROPOSAL

1. The show is going to be hosted by a former Bachelor. Jesse Palmer, 39, was the Bachelor back in season 5. He’s also a former NFL quarterback. He’s been a contributor on ABC’s Good Morning America and is now the host of DailyMailTV.

2. The Proposal is a pageant-style dating show. The reality series will feature 10 eligible men or women competing in four pageant-style rounds to win the heart of a mystery man or woman whose identity is hidden from them. The men or women will attempt to woo the mystery person in a first impressions round. They’ll then bare their souls in a beachwear round, answer the mystery person’s most pressing romantic questions, and strive to receive a seal of approval from the mystery person’s most trusted family member in the final round.

3. There’s going to be a proposal at the end of every episode. At least, that’s what Jesse says. “Viewers at home don’t have to wait three months to go the journey before seeing a proposal or seeing a result,” Jesse said.

4. The Proposal was created by the man behind The Bachelor franchise, Mike Fleiss.

IS MEHWISH WORKING ON A BENAZIR BHUTTO BIOPIC?

In a recent Instagram post in which she can be seen relaxing with the slain PPP leader’s book in her lap, Mehwish Hayat confirmed that she’s gearing up for the role of a lifetime, to portray Benazir Bhutto in a biopic. Quoting a famous saying from the former prime minister’s book in her lap, the star wrote, “We have broken glass ceilings, we have broken the stereotypes, and we have been and continue to be prepared to go the extra mile, to be judged by unrealistic standards, to be held more accountable.” She then went on to confirm that she is indeed working on and doing research for Bhutto’s biopic, “I am privileged to have been given the opportunity to research and learn more about her life and sitting here I can only reflect on so much more that could have been had she not lost her life so tragically.”

MEGHAN IS NO PRINCESS DI WHEN IT COMES TO DRESSING UP

On June 9, the newly minted Duchess of Sussex joined her husband, Prince Harry, and the entire royal family for the London festivities of Trooping of the Colour. The highly attended ceremony celebrates a 250-year-old British tradition where military troops show off their flags (or colours) and march through the Buckingham Palace square to celebrate the Queen’s 92nd birthday. For the special event, Meghan wore a pale pink, bespoke Carolina Herrera dress with matching Philip Treacy hat, which she evidently recycled from her first royal engagement in her new role, just three days after her wedding. Though the royal newlywed appeared perfectly content, some detractors on social media felt that the look was inappropriate for the regal occasion. “Off the shoulder is inappropriate day wear at the Trooping or any official engagement,” one critic clapped. “I do feel her choice of an off the shoulder dress was pushing it for HRH Queen Elizabeth’s birthday celebration. I have a feeling she’s going to push the limits a little too much?!” another agreed of the look and dubbed “wholly inappropriate.”
