Singer and songwriter, Komal Rizvi recently released her new song, Hello Ji, which would be the artist’s first original track of the year 2018. The musical video is a rom-com, set in the 80’s, featuring Yasir Hussain. Unfortunately, it didn’t prove to be quite the music to one’s ears it was ought to. The video shows the 80s’ café culture as a stage to the story of a young waitress and a mafia boss, who develop feelings for each other. But the boss, played by Hussain, can’t muster the courage to confess his love for the waitress, played by Komal. However, the lyrics and the video itself proved very nonsensical, especially the words which were strained, not catchy and seemed forcefully rhymed. Lyrics are not the only area Komal Rizvi has to work on; the music video, too, lacked the vibe in itself and looked more like a messed up remake of the 80’s with off-wardrobe style for both the characters. In this current era, the artists should consider making more intelligent content that can appeal to the masses, instead of coming up with silly flirty one like Hello Ji.

SABA QAMAR TO STAR IN MUSIC VIDEO ABOUT CHILD ABUSE

Saba Qamar fans, rejoice! The Baaghi star will soon be making a comeback to our screens, featuring in the video of Shuja Haider’s upcoming track Jeevan Daan. “Shuja made me listen to the track first and I really liked it. Then, he and I sat down to conceptualise its video. We really wanted to make something exceptional and put across a strong message,” the actor shared and continued, “I didn’t want to do beauty-shots or sway by the wind in some garden. I’ve always done projects that leave an impact on people’s lives.” She further revealed that Jeevan Daan highlights child abuse in Pakistani society. The actress feels that the video of the song has successfully managed to capture the cruelty of child abuse tactfully, so much so that she’s afraid not many would be able to grasp onto what its narrative is.

Behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot show Saba sporting menswear throughout. Explaining the intriguing choice of wardrobe, the Digest Writer star explained that the outfits are a reflection of the authority of women. She continued, “My character is basically of somebody confronting; bringing the children in front of the camera.”

In a recent Instagram post in which she can be seen relaxing with the slain PPP leader’s book in her lap, Mehwish Hayat confirmed that she’s gearing up for the role of a lifetime, to portray Benazir Bhutto in a biopic. Quoting a famous saying from the former prime minister’s book in her lap, the star wrote, “We have broken glass ceilings, we have broken the stereotypes, and we have been and continue to be prepared to go the extra mile, to be judged by unrealistic standards, to be held more accountable.” She then went on to confirm that she is indeed working on and doing research for Bhutto’s biopic, “I am privileged to have been given the opportunity to research and learn more about her life and sitting here I can only reflect on so much more that could have been had she not lost her life so tragically.”

I have a feeling she’s going to push the limits a little too much?!” another agreed of the look and dubbed “wholly inappropriate.”
