Social media uproar about female officer getting penalised for posting her video on social media

A female officer of the Airport Security Force (ASF) has been penalised after a video of her lip-syncing to a Bollywood track went viral. The officer, stationed at the Sialkot airport, has lost two year's worth of increments and perks as a penalty for violating the ASF code of conduct that prohibits its employees from using social media. People on Twitter, however, believe the officer's punishment is too harsh. Many twitter users have come out in her support, saying what their employees do in their private lives is none of ASF's business. Some also said that the code of conduct needs an update: “This doesn’t count towards misconduct. When these rules were made social media, video, viral video etc such terms were non-existent, so how the #ASF managed to conclude that this act was misconduct. Or [was it] just Self Interpretation & Fixation of Crime??” tweeted a woman. While others have concluded that the penalty is justified because the officer was wearing an ASF cap and was thus 'in uniform'. “Uniform has a sanctity, it his worn during duty, and such indisciplined attitude cannot be tolerated during duty. #ASF has a decorum like any other security force, and it's officers & members are bound by it's rules & regulations.”

Momina gets attacked for modelling for depression

Momina Mustehsan has been receiving a lot of slack of late for “looking too pretty” in the photos she posted whilst speaking about her battle with depression. After model Anam Tanoli’s suicide, local celebrities opened up about mental illnesses and how they affect many people. The singer, too, shared her own experience by posting a series of photos from the time that she was depressed. But the photos seem to be taken by a professional and that didn’t go down well with some. Stylist Anaum Hammad, for one, reposted the photos saying, “Depression does not look professionally clicked with this pretty, sad-girl aesthetic.”

Anaum continued that her intentions are not to be mean or unkind to anyone as she understands that every person has their own experience. She urged everyone to be more responsible with their words and actions. Fashion photographer Muzi Sufi also agreed with Anaum’s stance on the matter. However, the Pee Jaon crooner clarified and wrote, “If someone is brave enough to let someone photograph their broken self in a time of extreme turmoil, she should be encouraged and given strength, instead of being judged and described as a ‘pretty, sad aesthetic girl’.”
