Fighting acne

If you're suffering from an acne breakout, do not panic. Reach for a swab of honey instead of an overly drying over-the-counter pimple cream. Applied ever so lightly, you can sleep with a dab of honey on your face and awaken to less-stressed skin. Swirl a small amount of honey onto a cotton swab and dab onto your blemishes. If you want some extra boost, mixing honey with tea tree oil and lavender oil for additional natural cleansing.

Cleansing agent

Though it's not meant for removing delicate eye makeup, honey still makes for a good cleanser. It is amazing at dissolving other make-up, especially when mixed with your favourite natural plant oil and spices. You can exfoliate your skin once or twice a week with a gentle scrub made with two parts honey and one part baking soda. Baking soda offers light exfoliation while honey soothes and smoothes the skin. Use this recipe from head to toe and get benefitted from this simple yet effective concoction.

Hair conditioner

Honey is naturally a perfect hair conditioner because it retains and attracts moisture, and also keeps them smooth and healthy. You just have to mix one-quarter cup of organic raw honey with just enough fresh water to thin it out to the point where you can spread it around your hair, adding it tablespoon by tablespoon. Apply as you would shampoo to damp hair and let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse with warm water and let your strands will feel soft, nourished and full of bounce.

Moisturising lip balm

Everything that makes honey a great skin moisturiser makes it great for chapped lips, too. The hydrating benefits with enzymes, antioxidants and minerals work well to moisturise lips, as well. Apply raw honey directly to lips, leave on for a few minutes and wash off.
