60 Seconds With Nabeel Qureshi

For Nabeel, storytelling came as naturally as breathing. A storyteller since childhood, today his penchant for narrating stories has evolved in filmmaking with high-budgeted successful films to his name. Rousing Pakistan’s film industry from a long comatose with his directorial debut Na Maloom Afraad, the filmmaker didn’t cease to deliver hits after hits. Following his cinematic success-spree with films NMA2, Actor In Law and Load Wedding, Nabeel Qureshi has been instrumental in stirring magic into Pakistani cinema again. His most recent venture Load Wedding, based on family social drama helped highlight a draconian figment of our society; the notorious dowry system.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

My heart!

Who is the most inspirational person in your life?

Quite a few people, can’t name one.

How do you define peace?

With no network [smiles].

You splurge mostly on?

Clothes and food.

What brings you the greatest joy?

Doing something for someone I don’t even know ... or make somebody happy.

What do you love the most about Pakistan?

The Pakistani awaam.

Home is…

Pakistan, always.

I can't stop talking about…

About films. About ideas for new films.

I’m self-conscious about…

Hmmm… nothing really! I am very comfortable in my own skin.

This makes me most happy…

When someone admires my work or sincerely praises it.

My guilty pleasure is…

90's Bollywood songs of full jhankar.

My worst habit is…

Not sleeping at nights!
