Chanay ki Dal ka Halwa (Split Bengal Gram)

Ingredients

· 1 cup Split Bengal Gram

· 1 cup water

· 3 tablespoons ghee

· 1 teaspoon saffron

· 1 cup sugar

· 2 teaspoon cardamom powder

· ½ teaspoon clove powder

· 10 almonds

· 10 cashewnuts

Method

Soak split Bengal gram in water for a couple of hours. Add soaked split Bengal gram and water together. Cook it in a pressure cooker. Take ghee in a saucepan and pour the gram in to it. Saute the gram to make thick liquid out of it. Add saffron, mix it well. Now add sugar, cardamom powder, clove powder, almond and cashew nut. Serve with garnishing of chopped almonds.
