Know your rights in Pakistan

AROUND THE COUNTRY

Rights are often considered fundamental to society, for they are regarded as established pillars of society and culture.

Basic rights are a set of rights that protect individuals’ freedom from infringement by governments, social organizations and private individuals. They ensure one’s ability to participate in the civil and political life of the society and state without discrimination or repression.

Basic rights include the ensuring of peoples’ physical and mental integrity, life, and safety; protection from discrimination on grounds such as race, gender, gender identity, colour, age, political affiliation, ethnicity, religion, and disability; and individual rights such as privacy and the freedoms of thought, speech, religion, press, assembly, and movement.

Just like the rest of the world Pakistan constitution has given Pakistani citizens a set of basic rights but most of us are not aware of those rights, those rights are violated all the time. Be it in Government offices or police stations or by Government officials.

To prevent those rights from being violated, an app named “Know Your Rights Pakistan” has been developed to educate Pakistani citizens about their basic rights, rights which can help them in different situations.

Without having to read the rights from different sources, the app’s simple yet elegant design makes it easy to read our basic rights on the go all in one place.
