Effects of using smart phone first thing in the morning

Not exactly newsflash, we all know the detrimental affects the constant screen exposure is having on our health. Let’s face it, there is no way you can eliminate it, phones are basic necessity and some of us get half of our jobs done on them. But the least we could do is avoid contact with them as soon as we get out of our slumber. The reason why slow mornings are bliss is because the inflow at the hour is slow. With Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, your long list of messages and emails through the night, you are bombarded with updates, things to do and information, your mental state just scatters and is now all over the place. Your focus no longer is your slow morning or better said, me-time, but literally everything else. Mornings shall be a ritual to ease into the day and de-stress before the real stress of daily life begins. So it’s a very good idea to skip the #wokeuplikethis selfie first thing in the morning and spend a couple of minutes soaking up the sun instead.

Get enough sleep

We cannot really stress enough on the importance of getting optimum amount of sleep. Catching up on at least 8 hours of sleep is not only crucial for your body to function properly, it actually sets the tone for the rest of the day. Sleeping sufficiently can help you get rid of all the excess caffeine (read tea or coffee) that you consume throughout the length of the day and can actually lower your stress levels significantly. Getting an adequate amount of sleep is the primary requirement for you to stick to your goals, which is why it is at the top of the list. So, whether it is cutting down on Instagram scrolling late at night or the Netflix marathons, do whatever it takes to get sufficient eye-shut time.
