What a season for beauty! From the full Pantone array of hair colours on the catwalks to the emerald eye make-up at beauty shows and the red lips dotting their way through the many fashion weeks at Paris and beyond, there were plenty of looks from which to take your beauty cues come next season.

Ever-present big brows and long lashes

The brow obsession is here to stay and has undergone the most tedious experimentation over time. Thanks to Cara Delevingne’s bushy brows, the fashion industry has universally established that fuller brows are the deal-seal and are past the Nike-sponsored arched brow trends. Bold, bushy brows were out in full force at the likes of brands like Fendi, Moschino and more. Lustrous lashes, too, were still going strong, with the most mascara-heavy looks. And with the innovation in both categories at an all-time high and interest showing no sign of waning, is it any surprise?

Headbands

Hair accessories have been a growing trend over the past few seasons, from clips to clasps, bows to barrettes. It is undoubtedly the season of the headband, from the elasticated dancer styles, to the studded satin versions and the heavily-embellished bands.

French Red Lips

What could be more French than a bold red lip? Paris Fashion Week was an event which interrupted the run of almost exclusively lipstick-free lips, giving us pillarbox reds, coral tones, rich tomato hues and more. Chloé, which tends to be a showcase for minimal make-up, even made the case for a moodier red, whilst burgundy tones were also on show.

True Romance

Blush-toned make-up complemented by sweeping half-up-half-down hairstyles and elegant ballerina buns have their distinct romantic side. We are talking about radiant make-up looks, ultra-pretty hairstyles combining to create a princess-worthy looks, further accentuated by the pink-toned make-up. The bow-adorned hair too gives a similarly ultra-feminine feel. Watercolour-toned make-up is in too, offset by dramatic, flower-strewn hairstyles.

Living Coral Hair Hues

If there was ever a season to experiment with bold hair colour, it's 2019. Think of living coral as an edgier version of the very popular pastel pink trend that we've come to know and love. It works as an everyday colour; it’s soft, easily wearable, yet still empowering and attention-grabbing. It enhances eye color and softens all skin tones. The shade works best for those with neutral or warm skin tones, but can be adjusted by adding more pink to cool it down or orange to warm it up.

Glitter, Gloss and Shimmer

Glitter hasn't let go of its grip on beauty just yet, and showed up in eye make-up as well as coating the hair. An evolution of the trend came in the form of jewel and foil finishes, with sparkling lips, crystal detailing and metallic greeny-blue cat eyes put forth by brands like Versace and Gucci.
