Pakistani teacher Ahmed Saya wins Cambridge University’s prestigious award

Renowned Pakistani teacher Ahmed Saya has just made the entire country proud by winning Cambridge University’s prestigious ‘Dedicated Teacher Award.’

Saya was among six other teachers shortlisted from around the world. He and the other teachers were voted by an online poll that was conducted by the Cambridge University Press and the students were required to vote.

According to Cambridge, around 4,000 teachers were nominated for the poll while only 50 were shortlisted and only six made it to the finalists of this year’s Dedicated Teacher Awards.

Saya has now been invited to Cambridge, the UK where he will continue professional development at the institution. He currently teaches accounts at the Cordoba School.

The other finalists for the award included Sri Lanka’s Anthony Chelliah, Australia’s Candice Green, Malaysia’s Sharon Kong Foong, Philippines’ Jimrey Dapin and India’s Abhinandan Bhattacharya.
