ASK A DERMATOLOGIST

I am a working woman. I work eight hours a day out of which two hours is outdoors. This makes my skin tan very quickly although I apply sunscreen with SPF 60 everyday but that doesn't protect my skin. Please help me keep my complexion healthy and glowy as it gets during my holidays.

You need to use vitamin C serum at night. Also, try to improve your sleep pattern and if your sun exposure is more than two hours, then apply the

serum again.

Please suggest what a female should do to prevent her wrinkles other than moisturiser, Retinal, vitamin C and sun block. I am developing smile lines and I am in my early 30s which is getting very problematic.

Please consult a dermatologist. You might be advised to get Botox injections or fillers.

How can I monitor my moles?

These are some important signs of a mole.

1) Asymmetry – one half of the mole does not match other half.

2) Border – border or edges of mole are ragged blurred or irregular.

3) Colour – The mole has different colours; it has shades of tan brown, black, blue, white or red.

4) Diameter – The diameter of the mole is larger than the eraser of a pencil.

5) Evolving – The mole appears different from others and/or changes in size, colour and shape.

How can I treat my discoloration?

You need to use sun block during the daytime and a good anti-melasma cream at night.

I am 27 years old and I get moderate sun exposure. I noticed a sun spot on my face a few weeks ago. How should I treat it?

You need to use a sun screen in the day religiously and keep your skin moisturised. At night, make the habit of using a vitamin C cream. •
