Best combination of fruits and veggies for my breakfast smoothie to kick start the day?

Some of my favourite breakfast smoothies and juices that go really well with each other are:

• Spinach, apple, cucumber and ginger

• Peaches, mangoes, bananas, milk and yogurt

• Banana, peanut butter, milk and chia seeds. Absolutely delicious and refreshing!

Which kind of oil should I use for cooking for my family?

You can use which ever oil you prefer. Lots of people prefer olive oil but it has a very low smoke point which isn’t the best option to cook with. However it’s great as salad dressings and in raw form.

I was diagnosed with high cholesterol. Shall I say goodbye to red meat now?

You don’t have to absolutely cut it out. Red meat has lots of health benefits one of which being supplying vitamin B12. You should cut red meat down to 150-200g servings a couple of times a week.



I love eggs but I am thinking of quitting the egg yolk for weight loss. Is that a good idea?

Egg yolk is a great source of omega 3 fats that prevents heart diseases. A whole egg is 70 calories so it’s not much. Unless you have a heart condition or coronary artery disease, there’s no reason for you to avoid the fat. The days you’re short on calories, you can replace whole eggs with egg whites which are 34 calories, otherwise do try to have the whole egg. It has tons of health benefits! •
