Diwali Special!

The holy festivities this year were full of sparkle, colours and parties for Bollywood. Numerous personalities, including Ekta Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty and Arpita, Salman Khan’s sister, held get togethers for tinsel town residents, giving fans and papparazzi around the world much to talk about.

Safe & Neutral

Playing safe isn’t always bad neither does going nuetral mean your style is boring. Karishma Kapoor’s outfit was less than impressive and unflattering on her, unlike parineeti Chopra’s fun ensemble that combined Aladdin pants with embroidered coat. But nothing could steal the limelight away from Saifeena – the nawab and his begum looked like true royals in traditional garbs.

Metallic Ride

The second half of the year sees fashionistas around the world turn into metallic junkies, and Bollywood lassies are no different. Aalia Bhatt and Athiya Shetty engaged in a ‘who wore it best’ battle of sorts with their solid head-to-toe mettalic short shirt and wide pants with delicate eastern design accents. Though the former’s dress had a hint of mint in it while the latter went all out with a strong silver outfit.

Just a Swipe

Many actors went for softer colours and kept it more casual than the rest. New parents, Soha ali Khan and Kunal Khemu looked completeley at ease when they stepped out to attend a string of Diwali parties dressed in toned down dressed. Kriti Sanon’s chikankari lehenga was a favourite, particularly for the way the actress styled it effortlessly.

Shock to Rock

Katrina Kaif’s Diwali outfit was a big disappointment. Dressed in a solid red dress, she fell short of our expectations because the colour made her look like a bride and the cut of the dress wasn’t much to talk about either. Daisy Shah’s shocking pink skirt, on the other hand, paired well with a smokey blouse. It’s a look that you could easily replicate for few other occasions, as well.

Fun in Floral

Floral patterns are as feminine as it gets. No matter how you wear them and the shades you pair them with, they will always make you look like a winner. Quite a few leading ladies chose to wrap themselves in delicate floral embroidery, but the best look has to be from Shilpa Shetty – her cutout lace butterflies and flowers handcrafted on a nude base exhibited style, innovation and subtlety.

D for Diva

These celebrities defied the norms by opting for unusual colours and cuts. Our pick? Sonam Kapoor! She is not the one to care much for following trends and sticking to conventions when it comes to her style. Draped in a sparkling, pearl-adorned sari with a halter-neck blouse and cutout sleeves, she dazzled everyone just as expected.
