Eastern Allure

Welcome to the time of the year when minimalists and the colour-averse persist on wearing head-to-toe black on a daily basis, and according to them, the colour palette doesn't stretch much beyond navy, charcoal, and burgundy. This year, however, winter’s emerging colour trends in fashion are decidedly more, well, colourful. Think hot hues like orange, marigold, inky blue and fuchsia.

Florals are in full bloom not just for spring and summers but also for the chilly winter season. Designers are finding creative ways to incorporate the commonly known summer fashion of bloomy prints into the winters. From sweet and subtle hints to bold patterns and hues, floral prints dominated the runways this season. Fashion designers and celebrities have embraced bold florals as this winter’s new statement pattern in a number of different clothes and accessories, making it all the easier for you to get a little flowery. Whether you’re looking to make a splash or just to update your current style, there’s no reason why you should leave that floral dress (or blouse, or handbag) on the rack… embrace the floral trend.

Another haute fashion trend seen off of the runways this winter season are the statement sleeves. From bell-shaped and extra-long to balloon and cold-shoulder, attention grabbing sleeves are stealing all the spotlight. Eastern wardrobe also undergoes a revamp with pinks, blues and white. The long flowy traditional kameez is back with a vengeance for the season and this black and white number is just the right one to don! On a pristine white background entwining garlands of vermillion, green and orange catch the eye. The lace-trimmed sleeves and a thread-tassel neckline make this kameez perfect for semi-formal days. A v-neckline with minimal details and smartly-cut hemline renders the attire its distinctness. Don it over trousers or snug tights. Add funky jewelry to quirk up the fashion situation!
