Google launches “Work with Chrome” badge

Google has launched a new “Works with Chromebook” badge for accessories that are certified to be compatible with Chromebooks (via 9to5Google). The certification will be given to chargers, mice, keyboards, power adapters, and more. “We’ve tested these accessories to ensure they comply with Chromebook’s compatibility standards,” said Kevin Ngo, the Works with Chromebook program manager, in a blog post. “Once you see the badge, you can be sure the product works seamlessly with your Chromebook.” Right now, there are 13 companies listed as Works with Chromebook partners: AbleNet, Anker, Belkin, Brydge, Cable Matters, Elecom, Hyper, Kensington, Logitech, Plugable, Satechi, StarTech, and Targus.


Digital giants monitor web with AI amidst lockdown

Major websites are turning to automatic systems to moderate content as they tell their staff to work from home. YouTube, Twitter and Facebook are all relying on artificial intelligence and automated tools to find problematic material on their platforms. The tech giants admit this may lead to some mistakes – but say they still need to remove harmful content. The coronavirus scare has led to a surge of medical misinformation across the web. Google, which owns YouTube, said appeals about content wrongfully removed could take longer under the new measures. Twitter, meanwhile, promised that no accounts suspended by automated software would be permanently banned without a human review.


Nintendo announces news games coming to Switch

Nintendo just gave us a good look at a bunch of new indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch in its latest Indie World Showcase video broadcast. Exit the Gungeon, a spinoff of the popular roguelike Enter the Gungeon, will launch on the Nintendo Switch later today as a timed console exclusive. Exit the Gungeon first launched with Apple Arcade in September 2019, making today the game’s console debut.
