Eastern trends that should be on your radar for 2020

It’s 2020 and new fashion trends are making a foray into the season like never before. From new-age lehenga sets, ruffles and feathers to mirror work and gota patti, the Pakistani wedding fashion is going to see a dramatic – aside from being cancelled – turnover this year. 2020 is going to be an interesting year in terms of unique lehengas, aesthetics and colour schemes.

Glitz and glam with a hint of bling! What more can a girl ask for to look her fashionable best at her wedding? Umm, a mirror work lehenga, maybe? Yes, you read that right! Mirror work lehengas are one of the most scintillating and sought after choice for brides this year. They are timeless, graceful yet extremely glamorous. With just the right touch of glimmer and beguiling colours, mirror work lehengas can take your look to a whole new level. Another bling-y bridal trend we’ve spotted this year is the gota patti. If you want bling in your trousseau but don't want to carry around a lot of weight, gota patti work is your saviour. It is not as heavy as mirror work and nowhere near the weight of precious jewels. You can roam around carefree in a gota patti lehenga or don a beautiful gota patti dupatta or even carry around a gorgeous gota patti potli. You can even pick your mehndi jewellery to be gota patti inspired.

Flower power also continues to reign this year. The flower game just gets bigger and better, season after season. Stubborn to not g.o out of style but remain as fresh as ever, flowers continue to trend in bridal fashion. Many top-notch designers are writing stories of modern luxury and craftsmanship with intricate flower embellishments and embroideries. By far, the floral print is the most popular, must-have print for summer in any fashion girl’s wardrobe. So why not add these cool summer florals to your wedding dress as well?

Another offbeat wedding trend—multi-coloured lehengas and cholis Is here to stay. While monotone lehenga and choli has a charm of its own, multi-coloured lehenga and choli enhances and brings out that peppy and jazzy side of yours and obviously makes you stand out amongst the rest on your big day. For a long time now, brides have been adorning multi-coloured lehengas for their wedding nuptials but it seems like this trend is on a persistent boom. From having their dupattas, blouses, and skirts all in different colours to wearing a lehenga in multiple shades, brides are not shying away from experimenting with their bridal looks and neither should you.

Since Pakistani weddings are all about the wedding outfits (and food), so how can we forget our grooms to be. The groom’s wedding wear can either be quirky or classical.

Go for an embroidered, embellished coat or even a classic waistcoat. While sherwanis have their own charm when it comes to weddings, but this year sherwanis seem to have taken a back seat. Instead, printed and embroidered kurta pyjamas will be dominating the groom wedding trends this year.
