Virtual fashion show ‘Catwalkcares’

THE FASHION FRONT

Looks like there is no front row this year. Fashion Icon Frieha Altaf has announced that Catwalk Event Management and Production will be hosting a virtual fashion show, called Catwalk Cares, to pay tribute to the frontline workers. Six fashion designers will be showing their collections, and each designer will be donating one outfit and accessory to the frontline workers, who are working towards keeping the people of the nation safe. Pakistan’s top designers and models are joining hands (metaphorically speaking) including labels like Amir Adnan, Huma Adnan, Khaadi, Maheen Karim, Nida Azwer and Shamaeel Ansari. The outfits are going to be delivered to the models and makeup maestro Nabila shall be the styling partner for the virtual event. According to reports, models are going to be recording videos in their homes which will later be edited and streamed online on June 5, 6 and 7 on Harpal Geo and on Catwalk’s official YouTube between 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm and also on their Facebook between 9:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

Trunk Show organised by FPC to raise funds

The fashion industry is one amongst the many in Pakistan which despite contributing to economy, has been suffering and is facing an impending doom. In connection, the Fashion Pakistan Council organised a trunk show in Karachi where designers put up their work for sale to raise funds for workers who have lost their livelihood. The proceeds are to be directed to an NGO called RLCC. The aim is to provide ration packets to the workers who are suffering due to the closure of garment factories. The official announcement said all preventative and safety measures against Covid-19 will be taken and anyone not wearing a mask will not be allowed to enter. The Trunk Show was held at the new ‘it’ space Pinky Gul Community Space.
