In Focus

The cool early morning breeze and the trickling of water from the Carlo Fountain at the Piazza San Pietro was such a surreal experience. The St. Peters Square in Vatican City is one of the most outstanding and spectacular features of Rome. Besides the fountain stands a 25.5 metres Egyptian obelisk. Built in a colonnade are 284 columns and 88 pilasters on each side of the square. 140 statues of saints above the column look down at this magnificent square.
