As much as a dozen camels have been disqualified because of their owners’ greedy attempt to win the beauty pageant. The Arabian camels sashayed down a dusty racetrack as the judges of an animal beauty pageant rated the size of their fuller lips, heads, knees and cheeks. Numerous attendees witnessed the event from the bleachers and hooted as the mighty beasts represented their tribe loping down the track.

However, around 12 camels have been disqualified from this year’s “camel beauty contest”, as their handlers have used Botox on their faces to make them appear attractive. As explained by the chief judge of the show, Fawzan al-Madi, “The camel is a symbol of Saudi Arabia. We used to preserve it out of necessity, now we preserve it as a pastime.”
