Japan’s capital, Tokyo, has a new cafe where customers can enjoy their warm cup of coffee freshly brewed and served by a robot barista.

Named Sawyer, the robot debuted recently at Tokyo’s Henna Cafe, located in the downtown shopping and business district, Shibuya.

The name of the shop translates to ‘strange cafe’ in English, where the single-armed robot scans a ticket purchased from a vending machine and greets the customer. The high-tech barista says in a flat tone, “Would you care for a delicious coffee? I can make one better than human beings around here."

The robot the grinds the coffee beans, fills the filters and transfers hot boiling water in a paper cup for five people at once. A freshly made hot cuppa costs 320 yen ($3) and takes a few minutes.
