Zain Ashraf is the founder of a not-for-profit crowdfunding group called Seed Out, which works towards ending poverty through launching micro-entrepreneurs using interest-free micro-financing. His organisation has raised 350 entrepreneurs by selecting and pairing them with a business on the basis of need since 2014. The young lad’s focus has been on lessening inequality in the country, a target which has been highlighted by the United Nations as an important sustainable development goal for all the member countries across the globe. Recently, the social entrepreneur and philanthropist has been selected to receive the Commonwealth Youth Award 2018, which is aimed towards recognising outstanding young individuals whose innovative programmes and projects have had a considerable impact on their communities. Zain was among 20 of the chosen entrepreneurs, innovative industry experts and campaigners to have been shortlisted for the coveted award.
