Let’s track the most coveted fashion pieces that hit the runways at Milan Fashion Week Fall 2018 that was a celebration of creating and wearing art. Encapsulating the fashion fraternity worldwide, the ramps draped final curtains on what was a week’s worth of fashion whirlwind by brand powerhouses.

The Italian city orchestrated the ‘reinvention of the fashion show,’ with stupefying presentations by brands like Gucci, Prada, Remo Ruffini, Moschino, Emporio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and other fashion supremos.

It seemed as if the models were carrying large bejewelled creatures on their ears and necks, which arrested the likes of many at the fashion week. Big, bulbous, geometrical statement jewellery dominated the runaway. The crystal head adornments, diamond-studded crowns and shimmering barrettes sparkled blindingly from the ramp.

The big four of Italian handbags

Italy is so famous for leather goods that people have started believing in the notion that without Italy, there will be no handbags. With nearly every big designer going gaga over Italian leather, it does not come as a surprise when Milan boasts of some up and coming trends in handbag design. The big four of Milan Fashion week this year – Gucci, Prada, D&G and Emporio Armani – came up with some drool-worthy carry-ons. From large leather ones with minimalist details to shiny cross body bags with intricate embellishments, the pieces of sheer art have left people falling head over heels for them. Dolce & Gabbana took giant steps further by having drones fly their handbag collection to the runway.

Psychedelic Make-up

Make-up is always evolving, keeping pace with the wind of fashion trends. Fashion show regulars from all over the world have described the make-up experience at Milan Fashion Week as unexpected and alluring at the same time.

Prism-atic eye make-up, glittery cat-eyes, onyx eyeliners, and graphite-dusted lids opened a new bevy of beauty trends for the onlookers that is characteristic of the psychedelic ’60s dream.

Bouffant bobs and trimmed tresses

Bobs returned with a vengeance this fashion week with the lustrous hair trimmed to jawlines, making for an edgy hairstyle. The models had their hair bleached with fiery red, pinks and more of quirky colours. It was a celebration of bouffant bobs and trimmed tresses.
