Sana Mir

Major leaguer

A talented cricketer and former captain of Pakistan’s female cricket team, Sana Mir was born on January 5, 1986 in Abbottabad. She has led the national cricket team for women in several ODIs and T20 Internationals, and is ranked sixth among ODI bowlers around the world. While performing the duties of a captain in the team, Sana has managed to secure two Gold medals in the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games, and was also the Player of the Tournament during the Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier in 2008. In the list of ICC rankings for Women's ODI Bowlers, Sana stands at the eighth position and has been among the top 20 for the past nine years. Mir became the first Pakistani woman to take 100 wickets during the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
