It rained celebrities on the eve of Vogue’s Women of the Year Awards which were introduced for the first time, marking the 10th anniversary of the magazine. The affair, which was hosted by British actress Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife), had Bollywood’s A-list stars like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Radhika Apte, Kiran Rao, Kriti Sanon and Twinkle Khanna among many others in attendance who glam-rocked the evening. Khanna, also known as ‘Mrs Funny Bones’ left the attendees in splits after delivering a hilarious 10-point speech in which she shared important lessons of the past decade and talked about ageing. “It’s true that we get more comfortable in our skin as we get older but that is also because that poor thing is not as tight as it used to be. Botox unfortunately does not make you look younger. It just makes you look like you are a part of a secret alien invasion, desperately trying to fit in with the humans,” she remarked. The awards were a fashion lover’s delight, most of whom were left staring at the stars’ elegant looks. The King Khan of Bollywood bagged the Entertainer of the Year award while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan took home Influencer of the Decade award, many others took to the stage and celebrated the evening in Bollywood style. Another highlight was when Sonam Kapoor received the Vogue and IWC Fashion Icon of the Year award by none other than her father. The fashionista, soon after took to her Instagram account, mentioning “Thank you @rheakapoor every fashion award I win is because you dress me with such selflessness and love!” Followed by thanking her father, “Thanks daddy for presenting the award to me! You inspire me everyday to be the best possible version of myself. @anilskapoor you’re the best! @vogueindia.
