Ash, Kareena, Rani, Anushka, Sonam: Let’s take a look at the first releases of these actresses post marriage

Gone are the days when married actresses were refused meaty roles. The scenario has changed drastically over a period of time. With major Bollywood beauties like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anushka Sharma and the latest being Sonam Kapoor deciding to get married at the peak of their careers, it is evident that the marital status no longer proves to be a hurdle in their work life.

Kareena Kapoor

Bebo was at the peak of her career when she decided to settle down with actor-boyfriend, Saif Ali Khan, in October 2012. The duo was already living together and she felt it was the right time to tie the knot. In fact, Bebo started shooting immediately after she got married cause her career was still important to her. Her first release as Mrs Kareena Kapoor Khan was Aamir Khan’s Talaash, that released in December, just two months after her wedding.

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor’s first film, post marriage, Veere Di Wedding, is yet to hit the screens but we bet it will taste similar success as that of her contemporaries. The actress tied the knot earlier this month but she couldn’t plan her honeymoon because work comes first for her.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

The beauty queen tied the knot with Abhishek Bachchan in 2007, and her first post marriage release was Jodha Akbar with Hrithik Roshan. The movie, that released in February 2008, was a huge hit and we still remember the amazing chemistry between its lead pair. Was Ashutosh sceptical to sign her for it? Obviously no. She was always his first choice.

Anushka Sharma

The Italian destination wedding of the sporty actress was a dreamy affair. The actress was earlier sceptical to settle down with beau Virat Kohli and they had even parted ways for the same reason. However, they patched up and the next thing we knew, she was hitched! The Zero actress, today, continues to juggle between her professional and personal commitments and Pari was a classic example of it. The movie, that released in March this year, was Anushka’s first release as Mrs Kohli and critics applauded her for picking a genre that’s outside her comfort zone.

Rani Mukherji

The dusky damsel secretly tied the knot with Aditya Chopra in 2014. It was a gorgeous Italian wedding for the couple but the actress was simultaneously gearing up for the release of her film, Mardaani. The movie that released four months after her tying the knot, saw her unleash a badass avatar that’s still so fresh in our minds.
