Apple introduces its new 'Data and Privacy' page

Apple has launched a new Data and Privacy page on its website, allowing users to check and download all the data the company has collected from you. The page, available at privacy.apple.com, requires you to login with your Apple ID and password. From there, you'll be able to get a copy of your data, correct any information that you think is wrong, deactivate your Apple ID account, or permanently delete it.

If you want to download all that (or a portion of it), you can, but note that preparing the data for downloading might take a while, and the resulting bundle of files might be many gigabytes in size. Also, if you cannot find the data you're looking for, Apple has a detailed FAQ explaining where it might be.

Human cells used to 3D print the most advanced artificial cornea

Scientists have 3D printed the thin protective film over the eye, called the cornea, using human cells – and it’s the most advanced version of an artificial cornea yet. Should the technology improve, it could help millions of people see again.

It was tricky to find the right recipe for an ink that’s thin enough to squirt through a 3D printer’s nozzle, says Che Connon, a tissue engineer at Newcastle University who was one of the creators of the artificial cornea. This bio-ink didn’t just have to be thin – it also had to be stiff enough that it could hold its shape as a 3D structure. To get the right consistency, the researchers added a jelly-like goo called alginate and stem cells extracted from donor corneas, along with some ropy proteins called collagen.

Want to live in a moon colony? Jeff Bezos might help you get there

It looks like the billionaires' race to colonise space will kick-off in two different directions. While SpaceX CEO Elon Musk dreams of sending people to Mars as soon as 2024, Blue Origin CEO Jeff Bezos believes it's more practical to start out on the moon.

Bezos recently outlined his plan to send people to the moon and eventually build a permanent settlement there. To take humans there, Blue Origin plans to build its Blue Moon lunar lander in partnership with NASA, which would speed things up, Bezos claims.

"We'll do it, even if NASA doesn't do it,” he said.
