Born Thomas Cruise, the American actor and producer made his debut in Hollywood at just 19 years of age with the film Endless Love. Cruise shot to instant fame with his role as IMF agent Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible film series, whose most recent film, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, was released in 2015. He is amongst the highest-grossing actors in Hollywood, with sixteen of his films grossing over $100 million in the United States, and 23 having grossed in excess of $200 million worldwide. He has been nominated for three Academy Awards and has won three Golden Globe Awards. He has also received wide acclaim for his movie Top Gun in which he played the iconic character of the military aviator Maverick.
